FOTR (Friends of The Rub) this week is Nadastrom. And even though we featured them earlier in the year, they are quietly having a huge 2015 release wise. The finally put out their debut album back in February, but have wasted no time in getting out a whole entirely different project that also acts as a mini-album tribute to an episode of The Fresh Prince of Bel Air. Yeah…you read that right and it’s also a very classic episode of the show as well. The Life and Times of Raphael De La Ghetto is a sample heavy release with sick interpretations of hip-house and heady funk sprinkled with elements of the show and it’s an incredibly fun release that just recently dropped that we think is worth the listen. Stay Up With Nadastrom:
Our good friends Nadastrom released their long-awaited debut album last week and it only makes sense we salute them in this week’s Friends of The Rub. This self-titled full length from them was well worth the wait. Released on Dubsided/Friends of Friends, this 11 track LP is heavy on vibes (surprise!) and shows a great maturation of their sound that we’ve genuinely grown to love over the years. You can cop Nadastrom HERE and you can stream the whole album on their Bandcamp below.
