What would you do with your time if you were a multiplatinum producer who had hits with everyone from Jay-Z to Usher, Kendrick Lamar to Mariah Carey? Would you still be producing and developing new rappers, scouring the internet and clubs for underground music, and rocking parties as a DJ, week in and week out? Just Blaze is the rare dude who has platinum records to the Nth degree and still looks out for young producers, gives props to underground guys who other people in his position wouldn’t even know about, and works tirelessly but still makes it all look easy. A genuinely nice guy in an industry of wolves. Plus his records have always been peak hour bangers at The Rub – when we put together our Best of New York mix this week, his joints with Jay-Z and Cam’ron went on without us even thinking about it. So while we usually try not to gush too much about our guests, we’re over the moon that Just Blaze is going to be joining us in the DJ booth at Verboten tomorrow night!
