To call Mister Cee a hip hop legend is an understatement. He began as Big Daddy Kane’s DJ in the 80s, associate executive produced BIG’s Ready to Die in the 90s, and DJed on Hot 97 for 20 years. Currently finding his home on New York’s 103.9 six days a week, The Finisher Mister Cee is truly one of NYC’s greatest DJs, and he NEVER stops repping Brooklyn!

She’ll also be joining us for a party again on December 11th at Verboten for our final event there of the year. Run is about as accomplished as they come and would much rather talk to you about “the experience” before anything else. Truly one of the country’s best secrets, Pump is one of our favorite DJs who knows exactly when to flex on the turntablism and when to rock it strictly for the party. His accolades include being a Canadian DMC and ITF battle champion and his mixtapes are always a very entertaining listen. #FOTR (Friend of The Rub) this week is our headlining guest for Friday’s The Rub at Verboten, DJ Cipha Sounds. If you don’t already know, Cipha is a true hip-hop legend in NY. Whether it’s via his serious DJ skills, his long run as a personality at Hot 97 or his various A & R work for a number of record labels (Def Jam, Rawkus, Star Trak), he’s left his mark in so many ways. As he continues to expand his brand now into stand up comedy and improv, Cipha stops through the booth at Verboten to bless us with what promises to be a DJ set to remember. He’s been holding down NY for a decade plus on the club and private event circuit and is easily one of our favorite DJ’s in the city. Notorious for his open format deftness and ear for the right track and mix at the right time, he’s received official nods from the likes of Diplo, Mark Ronson and Nick Catchdubs…who called Sure Shot’s “Heavy Warmup 4” set below his “favorite mix of the year” in 2011.
