#TBT – The Rub – Under The Boardwalk

#TBT this week is full of some of the most classic music of all time as we revisit the Rub Radio mix, Under The Boardwalk, from Summer of 2014. Ayres and Eleven put it together as an official send off to that summer and it’s a great way to kick this one off. The kids are just getting out of school and the weather FINALLY has started to resemble what it’s supposed to feel like in June. There’s nothing on this mix released after 1968 just to give you a perspective on how timeless this music really is. Revisit this nostalgia blast from the past with the stream above and download below.

#TBT this week takes us back to last year’s June Rub Radio when we let the homie Steve1der take the wheels and essentially start last Summer for our monthly mix series. In typical fashion, he took it all over the genre and era map with cuts from Take 5, Mr. Carmack, Akinyele, Queen Latifah, POOLS, T.I. and so much more. Make sure and give this fantastic a revisit one the stream above or the download below.

The History of Hip Hop 1995 by Brooklyn Radio on hearthis.at

TBT this week to 1995 and a very strong argument year for the “golden era” of rap. Like legitimately, there are too many classic tracks and albums that dropped in 1995 to justifiably mention. Featured here are forever anthems from Mobb Deep, Luniz, Bone Thugs, Biggie, ODB, Three 6 Mafia, Junior M.A.F.I.A, GZA, 2Pac and this track list gets ridiculous in a hurry. With this deft mix of 80+ tracks that absolutely matter, ’95 gets a proper shine in what was one of the most influential years in the history of hip-hop. Stream in full above and grab the download below as well.

#TBT – Rub Radio – May 2015

TBT this week is when we used the May 2015 edition of Rub Radio as an excuse to hop into the Delorean and fire up the flux capacitor for a quick romp through 80s synth-pop, new wave and post-punk. Classic feels across the board from Ministry, Depeche Mode, Kim Wilde, Duran Duran, New Order and so many others. You can revisit this mix with the full stream above or free download below.

#TBT – Rub Radio – March 2014

TBT this week takes us back to Spring 3 years ago with the March 2014 edition of Rub Radio. Bunch of huge names here like Beyonce, Katy Perry, Kanye, Lil Wayne, Pharrell, Major Lazer, etc and some anthems like Drunk In Love and YG’s My Nigga are probably hits forever. But what really standouts in this mix is the absolute bangers from some of these aforementioned big names, and some names that may or may not be household in 2017, that didn’t really run game on the charts. The Maino, Juvenile, Justin Martin, Jack Beats and Major Lazer joints really stand out. That old Blaqstarr tune sprinkled in always sounds fresh as well. Revisit this one in full above.

#TBT – Rub Radio – March 2013

#TBT this week to Rub Radio 4 years ago with the March 2013 edition. Surkin had just dropped an insane new EP that’s criminally underrated to this day. PSY was a global phenomenon so much that Diplo remixed him. Flume was still a super unknown. JT was in the midst of 20/20 Experience domination. Classix and Aeroplane were 2 of the hottest names in house music. And vibes in general were starting to win out over the aggressive turn up. Revisit that full stream above and grab the download below.
