We’ve got 100 skip-the-line tickets for tomorrow night’s party and they’re going very fast. $15 (all in…no fees) jumps you right past a long wait in line, regardless of when you show up to The Bell House. Otherwise, The Rub line is always a roadblock by 11:00 pm. So if you don’t want to wait and don’t jump at this deal, you’re unfortunately stuck having to come out early to avoid the chaos. FOTR this week is DJ Riz, who also happens to be our guest this Saturday at The Bell House in Brooklyn. It’s our first edition of The Rub in 2016 and there may not be a better DJ in the world to do it with. Riz has truly reached a higher level of DJs in the game and his skills have always been nothing less than jaw dropping. There was such a steady flow of great new music this week that it made picking things out for TNN a bit of struggle. Needless to say, 2016 is off to a phenomenal start with some amazing music being released along with some familiar names returning after some time away from sharing new tunes. Up first is the brand new single from AlunaGeorge featuring Popcaan that’s sure to be massive soon. Second, there’s the new haunting vibes from Different Sleep with Angelina Lucero featured on vocals. Finally, this past week saw the epic return of Munchi and his label, Selegna Records. We’ve been talking a lot about inspiration lately and today I wanted to bring up the first person I really saw DJ a party up close, Mark Ronson. In 1994 when I was a freshman in college, Mark was a sophomore who lived down the hall. At that point he was opening for Stretch Armstrong at Nell’s in the city already, and it wasn’t too long before he transfered to NYU and his DJ career really took off. But watching Mark play in the little college bar where you had to bring your own turntables and mixer, playing funk and soul samples and Wu-Tang and Nas and OC and Craig Mack and B.I.G. 12”s, that lit a fire under my ass to start seeking out those songs on vinyl, and to dig for The Meters and James Brown and The Mary Jane Girls. FOTR: Treasure Fingers

FOTR this week is longtime dance music veteran Treasure Fingers. The Atlanta native has seen so many trends in dance music come and go, but just within the last year finally started releasing music on his own imprint in Pyscho Disco Records. He recently kicked off the Nite Trips Tour with young house music up-and-comer Landis LaPace and the pair released this fire new mix below to celebrate run. You should definitely try to check out this tour if it hits your city.

TNN has become synonymous with Monday’s and getting your week started off right while listening to some freshly cut, recently released jams.
