Brand new music from our guy DJ Eleven as he releases a remix EP of his original tracks “Last Beat” and “Beeline.” If you remember over the summer Eleven teamed up withe buzz-worthy singer Sharina Doyle for the soulful EP “Last Beat.” This time around Eleven recruited a few of his pals Kutcorners, DJ Ayres, Matty C, and Nightfall to turn out some top notch remixes. Kutcorners keep the groove nice and soulful, letting the vocals breathe a little while Ayres takes it fully onto the dancefloor for a very exquisite uptempo remix (Instrumental also available). Nightfall takes “Beeline” straight into the drum n’ bass world to make this a very versatile EP.
Pick this up today on iTunes, Amazon, Beatport, or Juno.

I’ve been a fan of Dallas’ A.Dd+ since DJ Sober put me on to them at SXSW 2 years ago. We stayed in touch about what they’ve had going on and I was geeked when they reached out about doing a remix of one of their tracks. These dudes are dumb talented, grind hard, consistently put out good music, and have a great live show! (If they’re in your town, GO SEE THEM.)
Thanks to Sober for making the connect (and killing the art!) and to Rosalinda for making it all happen. #ADdHoe

Happy 4th of July from The Rub – Str8 West Coastin’ Live Recording
Posted: July 3, 2012 Filed under: DJ Eleven, MP3Happy 4th of July from all us at The Rub. We thank you for all the support and can’t wait to continue celebrating our 10th year anniversary month with you over the next few weeks.
In the meantime, have fun in the sun with your friends and family. Stay safe ya’ll.
As a bonus, here is a live recording of DJ Eleven’s party Str8 West Coastin. Nothing says a BBQ or a pool party like some smoothed out West coast hip-hop. All you need is some St. Ides and an LA Raiders hat.
For the final year that APT (the legendary NYC nightspot) was open, Moma & I held down second Fridays for our monthly party, Special Delivery. Very quickly, it became one of the high points of my month, along with The Rub. Days before our 1 year anniversary in 2010, APT was shut down for good. In the past 2 and a half years, we’ve done Special Delivery as one-offs, but were always holding out for the right venue to get it up and running right. We finally found it!
Join us Thursday, June 28th as we jump-off the all new weekly Special Delivery at Viktor & Spoils!
Fridays mornings are about to get rough again.
We’re dusting off our khakis & Chucks for the launch of this summer’s Str8 West Coastin’ series on this Saturday, June 16th. In addition to ringing in Jessica from co-sign and Michelle from Audible Treats’ birthdays, we’re also celebrating the bornday of the one Tupac Shakur. For such a momentous occasion, Still Life & I had to go big and get fellow Cali transplant J. Period to come through and join us. Check the flyer for details and the mix to get you in the mood.
