Between Prince Klassen and our special guest from Dallas, Texas is taking over The Rub this Saturday!
Coming off a packed SXSW schedule and tour stops in DC, Philly, Pittsburg and Boston (where he rocked with the homie DJ Knife to celebrate the release of “Strange Brew 4“), DJ Sober is fittingly wrapping up his tour of the Northeast as our guest at this month’s Rub.
When dude’s not putting together great mixes or smashing parties all over Texas, he’s making dope original music with PICNICTYME, his partner in Booty Fade. Check out their recent EP here:

Playing at The Do-Over has become one of my favorite-est things about LA. The receptive crowd, palm trees in the venue, and all the sangria folks can drink make it a highlight every year. This might be the sloppiest of the sets I’ve played there over the years but it was also one of the funnest!
The good folks over at HypeTrak just premiered the first track off of Eleven & Ayres’ new EP, The Rub’s first release of original music. It hits iTunes on June 11th and all other online retailers June 18th. Lots more info soon!
I’ve been a fan of Dallas’ A.Dd+ since DJ Sober put me on to them at SXSW 2 years ago. We stayed in touch about what they’ve had going on and I was geeked when they reached out about doing a remix of one of their tracks. These dudes are dumb talented, grind hard, consistently put out good music, and have a great live show! (If they’re in your town, GO SEE THEM.)
Thanks to Sober for making the connect (and killing the art!) and to Rosalinda for making it all happen. #ADdHoe

For the final year that APT (the legendary NYC nightspot) was open, Moma & I held down second Fridays for our monthly party, Special Delivery. Very quickly, it became one of the high points of my month, along with The Rub. Days before our 1 year anniversary in 2010, APT was shut down for good. In the past 2 and a half years, we’ve done Special Delivery as one-offs, but were always holding out for the right venue to get it up and running right. We finally found it!
Join us Thursday, June 28th as we jump-off the all new weekly Special Delivery at Viktor & Spoils!
Fridays mornings are about to get rough again.
We’re dusting off our khakis & Chucks for the launch of this summer’s Str8 West Coastin’ series on this Saturday, June 16th. In addition to ringing in Jessica from co-sign and Michelle from Audible Treats’ birthdays, we’re also celebrating the bornday of the one Tupac Shakur. For such a momentous occasion, Still Life & I had to go big and get fellow Cali transplant J. Period to come through and join us. Check the flyer for details and the mix to get you in the mood.
